Central City Council Advances Housing Plan With New Affordable Development Resolutions

On May 20 the council approved a long-term planning project to update the city’s comprehensive plan covering infrastructure, zoning and housing at a total cost of approximately $150,000. Regular City Council meetings occur on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. at 141 Nevada Street. This schedule and location provided the consistent setting where the May 20 vote and later resolutions were considered and passed.
Street Closures for the Gilpin County Fair Parade
Council unanimously approved temporary street closures for the 32nd Gilpin County Fair Parade on Main Street and Gregory Street on July 11. The action continued an established annual practice that requires advance coordination through the same meeting process used for housing and planning items. The closures fit within the council’s ongoing management of local events alongside larger policy work.
