Stanley Selects Developer for 18 Workforce Townhomes on Museum Drive
The project on 4 acres will provide rental housing tied to local employment starting in 2027.
How we reported this
Stanley selected Northwest as the developer for 18 workforce townhomes on 4 acres of Museum Drive land. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026 with occupancy expected by summer 2027. The city signed an Option to Lease with the developer on February 12, 2026, after securing a $4 million HUD grant to support the effort.
The townhomes target permanent essential workers and other local employees who work in Stanley or the surrounding area. Priority goes first to essential workers, with remaining units available to additional local workers. Rental rates are set at $1,425 per month for one-person households, $2,100 for two-person households, and $2,400 for larger households based on income standards.
Lease terms and city role
Under the agreement the developer will lease the land from the city for 65 years while owning and managing the buildings. The city retains oversight on housing design, management practices, and occupancy criteria throughout the lease period.
This arrangement directly connects new housing supply to local job requirements. Residents employed in Stanley or nearby communities gain access to units priced according to household size, which may reduce the distance between workplace and residence for essential service providers.
Next steps for the project
Work is projected to advance on the Museum Drive site once spring 2026 construction begins. The city will continue to apply its criteria for tenant eligibility and building standards as the units move toward completion in summer 2027.
The development adds a defined number of units with employment-linked occupancy rules, which ties housing availability to the local workforce without altering broader market conditions.
