Local High School Athletes Compete in Three Major Causeway Bay Leagues This Week

High school athletes in Causeway Bay competed this week in local leagues run by HKSSF and ISSFHK as well as international events including the China Cup, APAC, JPAC and ACAMIS.

The activity comes as schools prepare for expanded facilities. Hong Kong International School will open its new athletics and activity center on the Tai Tam campus during the 2025-26 school year. The center will include two gymnasiums, a 25-meter swimming pool, rooftop tennis courts and studios for rock climbing and martial arts.

Local schools stay active across multiple disciplines

Christian Alliance International School and other Causeway Bay programs field teams in soccer, basketball, track and field, volleyball, swimming and badminton. These squads draw on established schedules that mix district play with regional travel. Athletes train at venues tied to the Hong Kong Island schools network and use public facilities listed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Participation remains steady because the leagues provide regular fixtures rather than single showcase events. Schools listed on the ISSFHK roster maintain rosters that rotate players through weekly contests, keeping training loads consistent even during summer months.

Facility upgrades support ongoing training

The Tai Tam project at Hong Kong International School gives one concrete date for expanded capacity. Once open, the two gymnasiums and 25-meter pool will add indoor and aquatic options that were previously limited on the campus. Other schools continue to rely on existing fields and halls while the new center comes online.
